OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) and Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) have an excellent full time employment or professional services agreement opportunity for a Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine physician to join our ambulatory network in a leadership capacity. This opportunity is primarily located at SARMC – Boise Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine Clinic with a secondary location at the Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Nampa Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine Clinic.

SAMG is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible physician with a strong back ground in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine to oversee our Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine program, including development and expansion within Saint Alphonsus Health System (SAHS).

The work schedule consists of a traditional clinic work week, Monday through Friday, with no less than 34 hours of scheduled patient contact. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, direct patient care, including clinic and inpatient wound care; consults, supervision of hyperbaric treatments, collaboration with advanced practice providers (APPs), program managers, wound care nurses, hyperbaric technologists and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team. This will also include intermittent robotic telemedicine consultations and onsite consultations with SAMG plastics/reconstructive surgeons, orthopedic surgeons and other specialists on the SARMC medical staff.

The selected physician must be comfortable supervising and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary care team of providers to include APP’s, in clinical setting where APP’s supervise hyperbaric treatments; and safety directors who provide final approval for hyperbaric treatment. The selected candidate will provide pre- and post-treatment physical assessments of patients and is required to remain on campus for duration of all hyperbaric treatments.

Our inpatients are generally triaged by the inpatient wound nurses and covered by the hospitalist services. No emergency hyperbaric services are offered within Saint Alphonsus to emergency department patients.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 350+ provider multispecialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for a residency-trained physician (MD/DO) to join a rapidly expanding Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine program, both locally to Boise and to outlying areas. The selected physician will provide services for a full spectrum of wound care patients at SARMC and across SAHS. SARMC is a leading provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary wound care services within the region, offering the most advanced treatment for wound care through the use of LUNA technology fluorescence microangiography, wound dressing options, off-loading/compression, monoplace chamber hyperbaric services and telemedicine.

While a subspecialty certification in Hyperbaric Medicine strongly preferred, the successful completion of ACGME/AOA accredited residency training program and either current specialty board certification by ABMS or AOA or active participation in the examination process leading to certification by a specific specialty board is acceptable. The selected physician will need to submit proof of two or more years’ experience in wound and hyperbaric medicine, in addition to a letter of reference regarding competence from 1) The Director of the Hyperbaric Medicine training program or 2) The Chief of Hyperbaric Medicine at the institution where the applicant most recently practiced.

Requirements include a strong clinical practice; experiential background and/or sub-specialty fellowship training; a sincere desire to lead in a clinic-based practice environment managing the treatment of patients with chronic/acute wounds, edema/lymphedema and hyperbaric medicine needs.

The ideal candidate will commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care while demonstrating and modeling our organization’s core values of reverence, a commitment to those who are poor, justice, stewardship and integrity. As a member of the medical group, the selected physician will need to hold a current ACLS certificate, obtain full Idaho and Oregon medical licensure, valid controlled substance registration with Idaho and Oregon Boards of Pharmacy and a DEA, to maintain and strengthen the Health System’s wound healing and hyperbaric medicine program across all communities we serve.

This opportunity includes medical direction of the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine program and that administrative component will be established with a separate contract amendment. Privileges within SAHS include the ability to consult, work-up, diagnose and provide treatment to patients of all ages, presenting for management in wound and hyperbaric treatment. Privileges for hyperbaric oxygen therapy include treatment of approved indications as outlined by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS).

The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine program primarily utilizes paper charting with phone dictation system (Escription) with the periodic use of Inpatient EHR/CPOE (Cerner PowerChart®) and WebEx applications.
