Announces New Executive Director, Christopher Grant, CHWS, CHS
Milwaukee, Wisconsin – October 30, 2015 – the trusted medical specialty society leader in hyperbaric medicine since 1986 announced the appointment of Christopher Grant, CHWS, CHS as the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine’s Executive Director effective November 1, 2015. Mr. Grant brings more than 33 years of relevant industry experience to his new role.

“It is an honor to follow in the footsteps of my mentors who established the foundation of modern day hyperbaric medicine,” said Grant. “I personally understand the challenges we face within this industry. To overcome some of these challenges, for the individual and the practice, I plan for the development of additional educational opportunities which will allow individuals to advance and specialize in their career and for practices to grow their business. In addition a focus will be placed on the continued pursuit of the scientific advancement of innovative and traditional indications, while increasing recognition by regulatory bodies and developing strategic relationships with professional societies. I also plan to initiate a credentialing program for hyperbaric centers to assure their recognition of professionalism. My goal is to propel the College and its members into the future, while evolving advance healing as well.”
Mr. Grant has a specialized skill set in leadership, management, development and operations. He is experienced working with community, university and industry leaders as well as government agencies by identifying and integrating synergistic resources. Mr. Grant has vast experience in the freestanding market. He developed and operated the first freestanding center of its kind in the Country and operated his own hyperbaric center for over 13 years. In addition he has consulted and advised over 100 centers. As an ACHM executive board member he implemented and developed the Certified Hyperbaric Wound Care Specialist certification. Mr. Grant received his bachelor’s degree in Health Education with an emphasis in community health from Florida State University. He currently serves as the Vice President of Special Projects for TEKNA Manufacturing and provides consulting to develop and further grow hyperbaric practices.
