The ACHM Education Committee

Our newly formed Education Committee does the following:

– Evaluates “The ACHM Education Approval Process” on a yearly basis and sends recommendations to Board for approval.
– Evaluates all applications for course approval (Online and Live Courses) sent for approval by The ACHM and makes recommendations to Board for approval or disapproval.

Leadership of the ACHM Education Committee

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Kelly Johnson-Arbor has accepted the position as Chair of the ACHM Education Committee.

Kelly Johnson-Arbor, MD, FACEP, FUHM, FACMT
Dr. Johnson-Arbor is board certified in Emergency Medicine, Medical Toxicology, and Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine, through the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center, and did a fellowship in Medical Toxicology at the University of Connecticut. She practiced wound care and hyperbaric medicine in Hartford, Connecticut from 2006-2015 prior to relocating to the Washington, DC area. Currently, Dr. Johnson-Arbor serves as the medical director of hyperbaric medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Although hyperbaric medicine remains her primary clinic focus, Dr. Johnson-Arbor still works part time in the emergency department and maintains regular medical toxicology and wound care clinics at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Johnson-Arbor is active in hyperbaric research, clinical practice, and teaching; her current interests include undergraduate education in hyperbaric medicine, the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for compromised mastectomy flaps, and the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in severely anemic patients who are unable to receive blood transfusion. Dr. Johnson-Arbor has published multiple articles in hyperbaric medicine and medical toxicology journals, and is an instructor for introductory hyperbaric medicine courses.
